1. After TOYOTA TOWN ACE model were conducted four TNCAP impact tests, the results are as follows:
   (1)For "Offset Deformable Barrier Frontal Impact Tests", the driver's chest protection is rated as "Poor" due to high seatbelt load, contact with the steering wheel, excessive A-pillar displacement, and severe door frame deformation. Besides, the left lower leg protection is rated as "Weak" due to the deformation of passenger compartment. There is a rupture in the driver's footwell and the brake pedal was stuck due to excessive pedal displacement, therefore, the driver's footwell protection is rated as "Poor". The front passenger's left thigh protection is rated as "Marginal", other important body parts have "Good" or "Adequate" protection.
   (2)For "Full Width Frontal Impact Tests", the driver's chest protection is rated as "Marginal", however, the driver's neck bore severe injury, which is rated as "Poor" protection. The rear passenger's head and chest bore severe injury, exceeding the restriction limit, which is rated as "Poor" protection and no point is awarded for the dummy.
   (3)For "Side Impact Mobile Deformable Barrier Tests", the driver's head bore severe injury, exceeding the restriction limit, which is rated as "Poor" protection and no point is awarded for the dummy.
   (4)The vehicle variant under test is not equipped with side head protection device, therefore, the "Oblique Pole Side Impact Tests" was not conducted and no point is awarded for the test.


2. In the front seat and rear seat whiplash tests, due to the insufficient effective height of the front and rear headrests and the large gap between the dummy's head and the headrest, a rear-end collision is likely to cause a whiplash effect on the occupant's neck, therefore, both front and rear seats are rated as "Poor" protection. Besides, the rear middle seat is not fitted with head restraint, therefore, no point is awarded for the rear seat whiplash test.


3. The vehicle variant under test is not equipped with an AEB City system, therefore no point is awarded for this item.

1. After TOYOTA TOWN ACE model were conducted impact tests for the 6-year-old and 10-year old child dummies, the results are as follows:
   (1)For "Offset Deformable Barrier Frontal Impact Tests", the neck of the 6-year-old child dummy is rated as "Marginal" protection, and other important body parts of the child dummy have "Good" or "Adequate" protection. However, when the 10-year-old child dummy moves forward,  the seat belt slipped from the shoulder and affects the restraint effect, so points are deducted.
   (2)For "Side Impact Mobile Deformable Barrier Tests", important body parts of the 6-year-old child dummy have "Good" protection. The head of the 10-year-old child dummy bore severe injury exceeding restriction limit, so no point is awarded for the dummy.


2. The car owner's manual clearly records the information on child restraint system applicable to the rear seat. Only the outer seats can be correctly installed with all types of child restraint system (universal, ISOFIX and i-Size) after being tested. Besides, the vehicle is equipped with the  function of installing i-Size child restraint system on the left and right seats of the second row with i-Size labels, it could also accommodate larger rear-facing child restraint system. However vehicle manufacturer doesn't recommend any child restraint system information for the vehicle, therefore, no point is awarded for the recommended child restraint system.

1. After TOYOTA TOWN ACE model were conducted headform impact tests of pedestrian protection, as the headform impacted at vehicle's A-pillar and the lower edge of the windshield, the head protection performance is rated as "Weak" or "Poor", and the rest of the hood is rated as "Adequate" protection. For the pelvis impact test, part of front structure of the vehicle caused larger impact force on the femur and pelvis of pedestrian, which is rated as "Weak" or "Poor" protection. For the leg impact test, certain areas of the vehicle's front bumper caused significant bending injury to the leg of pedestrian, which is rated as "Marginal" or "Weak" protection.


2. The vehicle variant under test is not equipped with an AEB VRU system, therefore no point is awarded for this item.

1. All vehicle variants of TOYOTA TOWN ACE are not equipped with speed assist system, and the vehicle variant under test is not equipped with lane support system and AEB Inter-Urban system. Therefore, no point is awarded for these 3 items.


2. Both front and rear seats are equipped with a standard-fit seatbelt reminder, the system can effectively alerts driver through audiovisual warnings. Therefore, the system gets full points.
