After TOYOTA YARIS model were conducted four TNCAP impact tests, the results are as follows:
1.For “Offset Deformable Barrier Frontal Impact Tests”, the driver's right thigh was rated as "Marginal" protection, other body parts of the driver and passenger have "Good" or "Adequate" protection. However, there is a rupture in the driver's footwell and brake pedal was stuck after the collision, which may cause serious injury to the feet, so points were deducted.
2.For “Full Width Frontal Impact Tests”, the important body parts have "Good" or "Adequate" protection in body parts. However, the dummy at rear seat was not effectively restrained during the test, causing the pelvis slipped under the seatbelt, also known as submarining, and server injury on head and chest of rear passenger exceeding restriction limit, therefore, it is rated as “poor” protection and no points were awarded for the dummy.
3.For “Side Impact Mobile Deformable Barrier Tests”, all important body parts have "Good" protection and get full points.
4.Under the more severe test conditions of the “Oblique Pole Side Impact Tests”, the important parts of the body have "Good"   protection and get full points.
In the front seat and rear seat whiplash tests, the front seat and rear seat have "Good" protection for the occupant's neck.
The vehicle variant under test is not equipped with an AEB City system, therefore no points were awarded for this item.

After TOYOTA YARIS model were conducted “Offset Deformable Barrier Frontal Impact Tests”, the neck of the 6-year-old child dummy was rated as "Marginal" protection, however, the chest bears too much force, which was rated as "poor" protection. For 10-year-old child dummy, the important body parts have "Good" or "Adequate" protection. However, when the 10-year-old child dummy moves forward, the seat belt slipped from the shoulder and affects the restraint effect, so points were deducted. After “Side Impact Mobile Deformable Barrier Tests”, the important body parts of the child dummy was rated as "Good" protection and gets full points.
The vehicle is equipped with the function of installing i-Size child restraint system on the left and right seats of the second row, however, the car owner’s manual only specifies universal child restraint system information, not including all types of child restraint system information (universal, ISOFIX and i-Size), therefore, no points were awarded for safety feature. Universal child restraint system was correctly installed at the outer seats of second row, and the car owner’s manual doesn’t specify ISOFIX and i-Size of installing information, and vehicle manufacturer doesn’t recommend any child restraint system for the vehicle, therefore no points were awarded.

After TOYOTA YARIS model were conducted headform impact tests of pedestrian protection tests, as the headform impacts at vehicle's A-pillar and its adjacent areas of the windshield, the head protection performance was rated as "Weak" or " Poor ", and the rest of the hood areas have rated as " Adequate " or "Marginal" protection. After the pelvis impact and leg impact tests, the front bumper of the vehicle has "Good" protection on pedestrian pelvis. However, the bumper caused a large impact force on the legs, and therefore it was rated as "Marginal" protection.
The vehicle variant under test is not equipped with an AEB VRU system, therefore no points were awarded for this item.

TOYOTA YARIS’s all vehicle variants are not equipped with a speed assist system, and the vehicle variant under test is not equipped with a lane support system and AEB Inter-Urban system, and therefore no points were awarded for these 3 items.
Both front and rear seats are equipped with a standard-fit seatbelt reminder, the system can detect occupant of front passenger seat, which effectively alerts driver through audiovisual warnings. Therefore, the system gets full points.
